Single Family
Sales of single family homes were down from year-ago levels in all but the highest price range in the first quarter of 2014.
Sales rose 11 per cent for single family properties priced above $475,000 compared to the previous first quarter.
In contrast, sales dropped 54 per cent for homes priced below $250,000 and declined more than 10 per cent in price ranges between $250,000 and $400,000.
Inventories were generally much lower compared to a year earlier, leading to a tighter market across all price ranges. Homes in the range from $250,000 to $325,000 represented the tightest segment of the market for single family homes in the first quarter.
